the group's history
In 1977 Prof. Sergio Mantia, orthopedic surgeon and physical therapist, decided to open a study of physiotherapy in Palermo, his city, involving his sons Roberto, Fabrizio and Marcello as soon as they completed their studies. In the 90s the studio was transformed into Mantia Medical Center, healthcare organization accredited by the Region of Sicily. The current headquarters in Via De Spuches, inaugurated in 2003, is currently run by three brothers Mantia, in collaboration with a significant group of doctors and physiotherapists.
A support and integration of rehabilitation activities, the Mantia Medical Center has developed numerous surgeries polyclinics for welfare activities and scientific research. In 2007 he created the Department for Studies and Research to encode scientifically the effectiveness of various rehabilitation therapies (both physical and manual) and build rehabilitation protocols based on scientific evidence. The results of the research have been published in major medical journals and presented at international conferences. The Mantia Medical Center has made several partnerships and agreements with universities and research organizations.
The development of outpatient activities and the strategic decision to focus on innovation have determined over the years the company's move from rehabilitation center for diagnostic and personal care institution. Path culminated in 2013 with the opening of the Institute of Research and Treatment Sergio Mantia, a new multi-specialized outpatient clinic located in the same building of the office.
